DUCK HUNT

DUCK HUNT

As wild as it gets!  Giles Island offers duck hunting in a "True Natural Environment" in flooded timber, lakes and sloughs.
Located in the middle of the Mississippi Flyway, we have fixed blinds positioned in just the right spot on our sloughs and lakes. These are all accessible by truck.  Of course, we always go where the ducks are located.  Our guides are constantly scouting to keep up with the whereabouts of the greenheads.  As you know, the first time in a spot is the best.  That's why we rarely hunt the same spot 2 days in a row unless we are having to beat the ducks off of us.  A lot of times, especially during high river level, we will find ducks deep in the backwater enjoying the wild sweet pecans that are floating or a food plot that has recently gone under water.  In those situations, we generally access by boat.  We will hunt them from a boat blind or get out and wade.  We have even hung-out on deer stands to duck hunt.  Now, that's an exciting hunt!
