Just imagine taking a 24 pound turkey with a 12 inch beard and 1 1/4 inch spurs early in the morning and catching an ice chest full of white perch and bass up to 7 pounds before lunch on one of our 8 lakes here on Giles Island. Sometimes the fishing is so good you have to hide behind a tree to bait your hook.
Turkey season starts in the middle of March and goes to May 1st. We accept only 3 hunters per day. Having 9400 acres gives each hunter 3133 acres of territory to hunt. All hunts are semi-guided, but personal guide service is available bird on every hunt. The average score of the birds harvested is 65 NWTF. These are trophy Eastern Wild Turkeys.
Fishing, duck, dove, turkey, and squirrel hunting and other small game favorites give Giles Island a variety many hunting destinations just don't have. Bird watchers, nature lovers and all outdoor enthusiasts will enjoy a unique experience, starting with a short boat ride across Old River to a large secluded island surrounded by the Mississippi River.
